Welcome to NorFor´s 9th Annual Advisory Workshop

November 7-8, 2018 in Jelgava, Latvia

The 9th annual NorFor advisory workshop focus on sharing knowledge to make the best use of the NorFor model in real farm situations. We will also present results from recent trials and discuss how the impact of this dry and hot summer have been handled so far. This year’s workshop will also provide a good base of knowledge for new users of NorFor both, on the model and the use of the software.

The lectures and discussions also will cover topics such as rape seed vs soya as protein source, energy evaluation and forage analysis as well as discussing the effects on using high levels of straw in the ration. Of course, we will also do farm visits in where we will learn and see how NorFor was recently put into use and discuss the methods and results with the farmer and advisor.

This workshop offers a great opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience between advisors from different countries and regions who currently use the NorFor model or who are interested in doing so. Such experience will strengthen the knowledge and understanding of feeding cattle in general and especially about the NorFor system.

The workshop will be presented in English. However, there are several individuals who will be able to translate if you want to comment or ask questions in your mother tongue.
